At the Viennese Ball!

Hi! So, I went to a ball last weekend. I really didn't know what to expect as it was taking place in a High School gym with the school orchestra, but it turned out to be really well organized and a lot of fun. it was advertized as a masked viennese ball, focusing on music and dances from the 19th century. So of course, my friends and I decided to go with our Victorian garb! We weren't the only ones, but we weren't the majority either. Still, everyone made an effort, and there were attendees from 12 to 90 years of age!

Sadly, I didn't take a lot of photos, I was too busy dancing and having a good tome. we danced the wltz, the polka, tha laendler, some english country dancing, and a bunch of other dances I don't remember the name of. Such fun!

I only have one victorian dress, so I went in my awesome Young Victoria gown, complete with corset and everything, and I re-used the little white silk flowers I got in Bath to put in my hair.  I had to re-fit it and adjust a few things, but in the end it fit even better than it did when I first made it, and I was agreably surprised at how I was able to dance all nigh in my corset!

There it is! Next ball will be a Regency ball in april, commemorating the 200th anniverssary of the Waterloo battle.  I'm so glad I finally found historical activities and costumed events in my area!
